Wisdom of the Lost Folk AR

Traditional Vietnamese folk art, such as Dong Ho painting, is at risk of fading away due to a lack of interest and appreciation. The project proposes a mobile experience that utilises augmented reality to create an interactive and engaging way to learn about the cultural significance of folk wisdom and traditional values. By digitising and gamifying traditional Vietnamese folk art, the project aims to renew interest in cultural heritage through active participation and learning.

About this gamified experience: Curious Vietnamese folklore animals escape from their paintings to venture into the human world. You will need to catch the animals and bring them back to their paintings before they all fade away. While catching animals, you will learn about the underlying folklore wisdom and cultural meaning behind each painting.

In the end, the app aims to help players realise a deeper connection to their culture and heritage and see traditional Vietnamese paintings in a new light.
