Titanic: The Shipwreck

The second of a trio of ocean liners, the Titanic, along with her twin ships RMS Olympic and HMHS Britannic, was designed to offer a weekly liner link to America and ensure oceanic dominance for the White Star Line. Built at the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast, the Titanic represented the maximum expression of naval technology of the time and was the largest and most luxurious ship in the world. On her maiden voyage (Southampton to New York, via Cherbourg and Queenstown) she collided with an iceberg at 11:40 pm (ship's time) on Sunday 14 April 1912.
