The Choices We Make
Live through the ups and downs of being an indie dev aspiring to create a breakthrough game. Crush bugs in the morning, add a feature after lunch and polish graphics in the afternoon. Choose the perfect music, theme and title and hunt this scary bug that cost you last night's sleep. Are you ready for feedback yet? Plan, create and playtest. But wait. What's that? Your mum is calling, your plants cry for water, and your release date is tomorrow. Should you really miss your best friend's birthday party tonight? It's all about The Choices We Make.
Jetpacks and Jumpscares? Why not?Pick a feature or bug in your game to work on from three cards. Don’t worry, you won’t have to do any programming yourself. You will, however, place items, traps and treasures and swap level geometry with slices yourself.
Switch between playtesting and editing to improve your level on the spot.
Playtest, reflect, choose again.
All you have is timeThis is not an economy-driven simulation: the only resource is your time. Decide freely how to spend it, but choose wisely. You can only work on three tasks per day and days are short.
Soon the next launch date looms and working too many late nights may do more harm than good. You are not aloneYou won’t have to do everything by yourself: A phone messenger is your window to the world. Various characters will reach out to you via messages and it is your choice how to interact with them. Do you ignore those annoying texts from your landlord? Will you be there for friends and family even though release date is looming?
There’s drama. There’s fun - but don’t get too distracted. You still have to finish that game, after all.To do listfix that impossible jump in the beginning
