Story
For centuries, Stars have guided humanity. These Stars select sages at birth who guide their people and provide them with wisdom and leadership. Each century a new Star appears to select a sage. The seventh Star has appeared, and the world looks with excitement to see who the seventh sage will be!
You play as one of the sage candidates, a Summoner born at the moment of the seventh Star’s appearance. You must battle the sages and the other candidates to discover who will ascend to become the seventh sage.

Gameplay
In your travels you are aided by Anima, nature spirits who live in harmony with people. Anima can be found anywhere, but mostly outside of towns. Summoners are special people who can directly control Anima to do their bidding. By battling your Anima with someone else’s, you can increase their strength and help them learn new attacks and reach more powerful forms.
The seventh sage will be selected based on their bond with Anima. By travelling to different towns and environments in search of the six sages you will obtain new Anima to fight for you, and train the Anima already in your possession.

Development & Future
I’ve been working on Stars and the Seven Sages on and off since 2020. What started as a ROM hack quickly became much more - a whole universe of its own.
The core gameplay value of Stars and the Seven Sages will be its replayability. Communities have shown a clear interest in diverse gameplay for this sort of game - ROM hacks, challenges and the popularity of streamers such as SmallAnt can vouch for this. Stars and the Seven Sages will attempt to fill this void in future releases by adding a lot of built-in tools to improve replayability. Examples are Nuzlocke mode, type randomizers, encounter randomizers and more. This, combined with mobile devices as targeted release platforms, will increase replay value for players.
