Shadow Walker
Shadow walker is a top down 2d game. From the main menu, you can access extra guns and upgrades which you buy using skulls. These skulls are found in game, once you have killed an enemy. (tip: the weapon buy screen also allows you to chose which weapon to start with)
When you press start, you are placed in a 4x4 grid of rooms, some contain chests, which you use to collect previously bought weapons. (4x4 grids of rooms are called arenas). Every arena has an exit which can be found in one of the 4 bottom rooms, the exit is a little dark staircase, and might be hidden (sorry). Luckily, you can shoot or blast your way through any tile using bombs or guns. After ~5 arenas there will be a boss. After defeating it and going through the exit, you will be brought into a new biome.
This game has a day/night cycle, during the day, it is a nice time to collect weapons and progress. During the night, however, you will be challenged a lot more, only a true shadow walker can prevail the night of a shadow biome.
