Outer Wards: Proving Grounds
Commander! You're tasked with a simple mission of managing the outer wards for this expedition. The expedition is expected to take some time, and it will come with it's costs. And, you guessed it, it will be your responsibility to provide these resources and ensure the success of the mission.
But make sure to manage your resources wisely, as we're not the only guests here. The nearby hive might not be pleased with our presence and might try to "protect it's territory", which is of course non-sense as these silly little critters can't provide any relevant and legally approved documentation. Nor can they really partake in any kind of communications for that matter. But alas, as with anything else, when diplomacy fails, persuasion prevails.
Persuasion by force.
Persuasion by bullets and shells.
Persuasion by any means, lest you dare to attract the wrath of our generous sponsors.

Now, aside from the formalities, we're obviously not gonna send someone we picked from a street into such a dangerous (and expensive) expedition! Our investors and customers clearly wouldn't want to risk their precious capital, thus a training simulation is in order before you can get your license and start your freelance contracting career!
In this simulation you'll be introduced to all of the basics you need to know:
Mining - every expedition site is located on a resource-rich area to provide you with access to needed resources, although it's still up to you to extract them!
Action cards - all the boring tasks and decisions presented in a nice and exciting card format! As they say, every day you're dealt a new hand!
Card rarities - some opportunities are better than others! And sometimes, well, it just can't seem to get a break!
Turrets - from high fire rate machine-guns to long range artillery pieces, you get to choose your tools of persuasion to keep your enemies away!
Turret parts - 8 different ways to pitch the sounds of your tools, to make sure they sound as persuasive as possible!
Building - you decide what to add to your base to help you out, and whether those walls really need reinforcing!
Progress - a set of tasks to imitate management of your expedition, and the goal of your mission!
