The spread of Christianity and the feudal political structure are profoundly changing the way towns are run. Behind broad stone ramparts, cities protect themselves from a more violent and uncertain environment.

The world is changing and evolving. Your relationship with other towns and with the new local political authorities has an impact on your development choices.

With the advent of the Renaissance come a new vision of the world, of cities, their architecture and their politics.

Your city now has a strong personality. With over a thousand years of history, its layers of varied architecture have accumulated to form neighborhoods housing diverse populations with sometimes antagonistic expectations.

It's likely that some of the buildings that made your city's history are still standing, while others, in ruins, evoke its grandiose past.
What Will the Future Hold?

The people have decided to take their destiny into their own hands. Are you ready?

It's up to you to create the story of a city that will make history!

What impact does history have on the organization of a city?
The world's major capital cities have a history stretching back hundreds of years, and in some cases thousands of years. Buildings have been created on each other, and choices made during one era have often had an impact on those of the next.

Moving from one age to another in MEMORIAPOLIS means making a series of decisions, such as which buildings to keep and which to abandon. Decide where you're going to place your new town center. Should you take advantage of the overlapping effect between two ages or, on the contrary, extend your city over its territory?

Passing an age in MEMORIAPOLIS is both a victory and a new challenge.

The main function of an organism is its ability to adapt to its environment.

When we speak of an « organic city », we're referring to the ability of its inhabitants to organize their space autonomously.
That's why, in MEMORIAPOLIS, you only decide on the position of the main buildings. Housing, roads and the organization of neighborhoods are decided by the inhabitants themselves.
Taking into account a large number of parameters such as sunshine, type and slope of terrain, culture and age of nearby buildings, inhabitants of your city will evolve accordingly with the choices you've made previously.
Every time you place a building, it influences force fields that determine how your population will inhabit the space of your town.

In Memoriapolis strategic thinking is the key to success. As you transition through different historical ears, you'll face critical decisions that impact the organization and growth of your city. Choose which buildings to retain and which to abandon, determine the placement of your new city center, and weigh the benefits of overlapping ages against expanding your territory.

Each era conquered in Memoriapolis marks a triumph, but it also presents fresh challenges. Shape your city with foresight and master the art of strategic city evolution.

Each Building You Build Belongs to a Culture.
Each of these cultures attracts a specific population.

The barracks will tend to create military quarters, the temple, a religious quarter, and the Senate, a political quarter. The architecture of the homes in these neighborhoods will be modified by their inhabitants, who will adapt their environment to their vision of the world.
Events specific to the district's culture will bring your city to life and punctuate its development.

In MEMORIAPOLIS it is more accurate to speak of political systems than of a political system.

In fact, each age brings its share of innovations and changes to the system compared with previous ages. As well as having to manage the presence of factions in your neighbourhoods, you'll need to organise your city's politics with the main players of the current age.

It's impossible to make a decision without the agreement of the local lord or bishop present in your town during the Middle Ages. During the Renaissance, the political system changed, creating the State and the Region, two new political entities with which you will now have to negotiate.

Factions of the same culture as the district will settle in your city. They will become the political actors with whom you will organize your city's politics. It's your responsibility to ensure that all these cultures live in harmony, that no neighborhood secedes from the city at the risk of sparking riots, or worse, that your city deposes your family from its management.

At the start of each age, you'll be asked to choose a member of your family as the future leader responsible for managing the next age. This choice, from among six culturally diverse personalities, will offer bonuses and synergies with the leader of the previous age.

Whether it's your uncle, a former career soldier, your distant cousin, a wealthy merchant, or your little sister who has been in a convent since childhood, these personalities will leave their mark on the history of your town.

It's not impossible that this seemingly insignificant choice will have long-term consequences for the development of your town and its ability to react to future events. Choose wisely and take responsibility for your choice. After all, it's your family.
