Transgenerational trauma is a relatively new field of research and an important social issue. It has been identified as a result of particularly traumatic events. As a German game development team, it is especially important for us to discuss how the experience of Nazi Germany as perpetrators could have an impact on our behavior through transgenerational trauma, even today.

The name we have chosen for the game, Meine Oma (88) - which literally means My Grandma (88) - is a direct reference to the topic of how Nazi ideology continues to exist, concealed in our societies. The game offers a personal experience of a granddaughter with her beloved grandmother, who is still directly influenced by National Socialist ideology today.
