Play Hyperspacer
Hyperspacer is a 2D space exploration rpg game. The game features two game modes. The first mode is to fly in space with your own spaceship. The other mode is walking on the surface of moons or planets.

Flying a spaceship allows us to move between planets and moons. You can also travel through hyperspace to other star systems. You can explore the entire Arantian sector of the galaxy this way. There are 27 star systems and in them 88 celestial bodies on to land on. Each star system is a long level on which you can fly left and right at will. Along the way you encounter planets, moons, clouds of nebulae. You may also encounter dangers, such as enemy spaceships, asteroids, energy storms. There are specific locations in each star system from which you can make a hyperjump to other systems (the system map is shown in one of the screenshots). But be sure to have hyperium fuel rods on board your ship. One rod is needed for each hyperjump.

Walking your hero on the surface is the game mode in which the main part of the gameplay happens. You can fight enemies, sneak past them, collect resources, gather scientific data, and perform various missions.

On the surface of planets and moons you can often find minerals that you can collect if you have the right skill level. These minerals can then be sold or used in various ways. Each mineral has a different use. With the right equipment on your ship, you can use them to make ammunition, fuel, and repair your ship's hull.

If you are trained in science, you can collect scientific data from strange plants and other variety of unusual odd finds. The scientific data can then be sold or used to complete some science mini-quests.

Most of the celestial bodies in this sector of the galaxy are uninhabited. However, in some star systems you will find spaceports where you can take care of your business.

In a decent spaceport you will always find some kind of main office. There you can talk to local government officials, learn about local history and the current geopolitical situation. You can also get military-type miniquests there.

You can buy or sell weapons, ammunition, equipment, raw materials, food, and other goods at the general store. Ore traders can often be found in the stores. They can give mining mini-quests. These quests involve collecting a certain amount of specific minerals for a special price.

At the ship parts store, you can buy new and better weapons, energy shields, engines and also equipment for ammunition, fuel, medical kits or hull repair. Sometimes you can also meet a merchant there who will sell you a whole new spaceship.

You can usually find some kind of bar or restaurant at spaceports. There you can literally heal yourself by trying local food and drink. If it's an agricultural planet, you can expect juicy steaks and delicious coffees. If it's a mining colony, you're in for synthetic pulp or reheated fries. In such places you can often find trophies collectors. These are individuals who can give you mini-quests involving collecting various trophies from the bodies of defeated monsters, such as fangs, abdomen, livers, eyes.

For performing miniquests, you not only get hyperdollars, but also valuable mission points, which allow you to increase your character level and, as a result, increase your skills. These skills are attack, defense, science, mining, gadgeting and survival. The workings of all of them are described at the very beginning of the game in the character creation panel, so there is no need to describe them here.

Once you've settled everything you need in the city, you can head out into the wilderness. Depending on the planet/moon you are on, you can wander only to the right or only to the left of where you landed. During your travels you will always encounter some enemies.

On inhabited worlds, your opponents will often be rebels of various kinds, bandits, smugglers, troops of rebellious factions, hoverbikers. On uninhabited planets, they will more often be dangerous beasts. That's why it's a good idea to arm yourself in advance not only with better weapons, but also with helpful accessories such as medical kits, personal energy shields, stealth generators and hoverboards.

All these accessories can be placed in quickitem slots. From there, they can be used during the action.

Medical kits will allow you to heal yourself during combat. You can also heal yourself with food, but you need to open the inventory for that.

Personal shields create a bubble of energy around your character that will absorb damage from enemy attacks.

Stealth generators allow you to become invisible for a limited time.

Hoverboards for the duration of their operation increase your speed of movement. They make exploring the planets very much more convenient. They can be used together with a personal shield, but not with a stealth generator.

The beginning of the game, is pure exploration, getting to know this sector of the galaxy. Once you reach a certain planet, you may come across the beginning of the main storyline. This main quest will take you on a journey through the entire sector and allow you to delve even deeper into its affairs. It will shed new light on the situation of the planets you've visited before, and even the entire galaxy.

Hyperspacer is a one-man project that I worked on for three years. This is the first computer game I've ever made. But this is not my first RPG work. Previously, I used to operate as a game master on various mmo crpg servers. I created quests, built locations, generated millions of NPCs. You could say that it was my volunteer practice. In my work as a game master, I've always liked to go big. Epic story, great war, turmoil, destruction, adventure. I think I've managed to encapsulate all of this in Hyperspacer.

If you want to see a little more, I invite you to watch the longer trailer on youtube.
