Crazy 8s Classic
Crazy Eights is a shedding-type card game for two to seven players. The goal is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand.
To play, shuffle a standard deck of 52 cards and deal 5 cards face down to each player. Place the remaining deck face down in the center of the table as a draw pile. Turn over the top card of the draw pile and place it face up next to the draw pile to start the discard pile.
If the top card of the discard pile is an Eight, a new card is drawn from the draw pile.
On your turn, you must play a card from your hand that matches either the suit or the rank of the top card of the discard pile. If you cannot play a card, you must draw a card from the draw pile. If you draw a card that you can play, you may play it immediately.
If you play an Eight, you must choose a new suit. The next player must then play a card of that suit, or draw a card.
If you are the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand, you win the round. The other players then count the points in their hands. Each Eight is worth 50 points, Face cards are 10 points each, and all other cards are worth their face value. The player with the fewest points at the end of the game wins.
Here are some additional rules that are commonly played:
If you have no cards that you can play and the draw pile is empty, you must shuffle the discard pile and place it face down as the new draw pile.
Crazy Eights is a fun and easy game to learn, and it can be enjoyed by players of all ages. It is also a great game to play with a large group of people.
