It's tough, getting to know people

As an outcast seeking sanctuary and finding it already occupied by refugees, you become aware for the first time of other people's stories of struggle.

Taking shelter in a disused woodshed beside this alpine shack, you find that you can observe the family through tiny gaps in the walls and floorboards.

As you come to understand why they're here and what they need, you resolve to help them however you can.Nothing is arbitrary

You can't read or speak their language.
You can't communicate with them directly.

Careful observation and attention to detail will tell you what their life is like now, but as your investigation moves to their past and becomes more abstract, you'll need to think about daily life from each family member's perspective to fully unravel what led them here.In your own time

You'll watch their activities from multiple perspectives over the course of several days. As you shed light on their story, you'll find ways to help them overcome their struggles and understand how they escaped from a corrupt regime.

You'll uncover secrets even they didn't know... In turn, you'll come to learn how you fit into the world. What should you expect? The minimalist 3D setting changes with the time of day in many subtle ways, and almost all details have significance. You'll get to know every inch of this room.
Realistic character animations and well-placed sounds breathe life into each scene, while a diegetic jazzy soundtrack sets the mood.
Observation is paramount; you can quickly move between perspectives and through different times of day, so there's no barrier when cross-referencing details.
It isn't strictly necessary to take your own notes, but you might find it helpful.
Your investigation is open-ended; tackle questions in any order you wish.
All solutions have enough clues so as not to be ambiguous, but there's no harm in some educated guesswork; any clues you missed will be pointed out afterwards and kept for future reference.
Your hard work is immortalised in a diagram that ties all the facts together, along with some lovely sketches, building towards the complete story.
Playing with a controller works just as well as with a mouse and keyboard.Cheers!
