"Cave Crawler: A Retro Exploration Adventure" is exactly as described! Explore a large, 2D open world with various islands, towns, and geographical features. Find tools along your journey, and use them to collect resources. Sell these resources at shops to earn money to buy items. Save up your money to upgrade and customize your house on Paradise island, an island city far off the coast of the mainland that is in disrepair. Navigate your way through caves, forests, factories, and much more to fight bosses and reach the end of your journey.
Tools:
Pickaxe - Allows you to mine rocks, and can net you some ore and gems.
Axe - Lets you chop down trees, and to collect wood.
Shovel - Digs up fossils as well as other items, plant plants, allows you to find secret areas.
Fishing Rod - Fishes up fish, in addition to other items.
Sword - Use this tool to fend off various fiends.
Mainland Tutorial Towns:
Each town is meant to introduce a new feature. That would work something like this:
Town 1 (Miners Haven): Introduces the pickaxe, caves, mining, and is the first place where you'll finds a shop.
Town 2 (Lumberton): Introduces the axe and choppable trees.
Town 3 (The Dig Site): Introduces the shovel, digging, fossils, and planting.
Town 4 (Hookten): Introduces the fishing rod and fishing.
Town 5 (The Dojo): Introduces the sword and fighting.
Islands:
Each island focuses on the different items:
Island 1: Focuses on use of the pickaxe, features large museum and mining depot dungeons.
Island 2: Focuses on use of the axe, features a large logging depot dungeon.
Island 3: Focuses on use of the shovel, features a fossil excavation depot dungeon.
Island 4: Focuses on use of the fishing rod, feature a large fishery dungeon.
Island 5: Focuses on use of the sword, feature a large factory dungeon.
Paradise Island: Rebuild the island using resources, includes a customizable player house.
The numerical order of the islands you visit is arbitrary, as you'll be able to choose which ones you want to visit, and in what order.
