Blocks for Babies

Blocks for Babies is a genre-mashing puzzle arcade shooter. Jump between modes to land satisfying line clears and shoot demons while helping Flapper clear rows of blocks as they fall. But be warned: traditional arcade skill will only take you so far—unclearable corrupted blocks will spawn, separating the babies from the brutes.
Blocks for babies features classic block-dropping gameplay, but introduces the ability to go eye-level and shoot your way through the game board in a retro-style boomer shooter. Hard and soft drops aren't your only tools anymore—now you have a shotgun.Venture below the surface to clear out blocks with an expanding arsenal of weapons. Shoot and destroy to strategically reshape the game board and set up satisfying clears in the overworld, all while avoiding the corrupted blocks that are hunting you down.
Blocks for Babies was originally developed in 2 weeks for videogamedunkey's Bigmode game jam. The Steam release will take this well-nurtured baby and raise it to maturity with more weapons, more enemies, and a Steamworks-integrated leaderboard.
