A Rat's Life: The Cat Conspiracy
A Rat’s Life: The Cat Conspiracy is a story-rich action-adventure game that blends Collect-a-Thon and Metroidvania mechanics. It aims to recapture the exciting vibe of classic Rareware games on Nintendo 64, such as Banjo-Kazooie and Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and features deep lore and adult humor.
The game is set within a microsociety that feels vibrant and alive, thanks to a rich story, memorable characters, a fair amount of comedy and events based on a day cycle system. The most dedicated players will have the opportunity to delve intensely into the detailed story, while others may choose to stick to the essentials
Progress through a sprawling abandoned zoo, forming an interconnected world with diverse environments, as you learn and upgrade a wide range of abilities. The Metroidvania mechanics are also narrative-based, insofar as gaining favor from specific characters unlocks access to otherwise inaccessible areas.
This game aims to recapture the vibe of classic Collect-a-Thon games from the Nintendo 64 era, in a manner that energizes both exploration and the progression of the story. A unique object based smell mechanic will help the player find the different collectibles, some of which will allow him to build surprising context based structures.
Numerous in-game abilities draw inspiration from real-life rat behaviors, gamified to provide action-oriented gameplay. The rat movements are crafted to be fluid, allowing a fast-paced and dynamic exploration of the world. You’ll also get to fight enemies and bosses.
